Follow all battery safety precautions when installing, charging or servicing batteries. In addition to the hazard of electric shock, gas produced by batteries can be explosive and sulfuric acid can cause severe burns. Remove watches, rings and other metal objects. Use tools with insulated handles. Wear rubber gloves and boots.
Special safety precautions are required for procedures involving handling, installation and maintenance of the UPS system. Only properly trained and qualified personnel wearing appropriate personal protective equipment should be involved in installing the Liebert NX Battery system or preparing the system for installation.
Battery cabinets contain non-spillable batteries. Keep units upright. Do not stack. Do not tilt. Failure to heed this warning could result in smoke, fire or electric hazard. Call 1-800-LIEBERT prior to moving battery cabinets (after initial installation).
The battery cabinet with the Controller Module (Battery Cabinet #1) must be installed in the position closest to the UPS. For systems that do not use Liebert NX Battery Cabinets, an optional temperature sensor can be installed to monitor the ambient room temperature.
