Challenges and recommendations for future work of BIPVs with ESSs are introduced. Generally, an energy storage system (ESS) is an effective procedure for minimizing the fluctuation of electric energy produced by renewable energy resources for building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPVs) applications.
Building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPVs) systems are going to effectively participate in fulfilling the net-zero-energy building (NZEB). BIPVs systems that are broadly accepted for buildings can completely guarantee their energy needs from RERs [3, 4].
C. Direct Current In 2006, Pang et al. indicated that DC distribution systems in buildings had advantages in system simplicity and energy efficiency with the increase of distributed renewable generations and DC loads. PV systems and electricity storage systems have a DC nature.
The findings showed that integrating CAESS with solar photovoltaic (PV) systems resulted in a cost savings in energy ranging from $0.015 to $0.021 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) for the optimal system. This integration allowed for effective load shifting, leading to significant energy cost reductions.
