The expansion of photovoltaic systems emphasizes the crucial requirement for effective operations and maintenance, drawing insights from advanced maintenance approaches evident in the wind industry. This review systematically explores the existing literature on the management of photovoltaic operation and maintenance.
In literature, three general maintenance strategies for solar PV systems are mentioned: corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance. The execution of regular maintenance procedures is critical in ensuring the optimal operation and durability of solar PV systems. This will also ensure its maximal performance and fasten the return on investment. By dividing these responsibilities into distinct subsections, a comprehensive strategy for system maintenance is achieved.
1 Introduction This guide considers Operation and Maintenance (O&M) of photovoltaic (PV) systems with the goal of reducing the cost of O&M and increasing its effectiveness.
